Browser Downloads
Links to the major browsers to download free. Yes, Internet Explorer is not your only option.
You do not have to use the browser that came with your computer; in fact, you need to upgrade to the latest version of the browser you are using to get the most out of the internet.
Internet Explorer still has the lion's share of the market with 60%, according to Net Applications (August 2010). (IE has not been available for Mac since OSX came out with Safari). Firefox is now in second place with 23%. Google's Chrome (first released in September 2008) has about 8% and Safari has a 5% share.
Phones and PDA's use mobile browsers, which is a whole separate topic.
The newer browsers have good support for web standards and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), unlike earlier browsers, and pages should appear pretty much the same in any browser.
