Grace: a poem
I just discovered this poem that Marilyn wrote a number of years ago. It seemed appropriate for this time of year.
Grace
Planted me a garden once.
Corn, tomatoes, the usual.
Didn't weed and didn't water,
but the sun shone and the rain rained,
and I had a little corn and a few tomatoes
and some of the usual anyhow.
And some marigolds
that came up, unasked.
Isn't it fortunate
that we don't always get
what we deserve?
